TJS International Language Resources develops and designs its own testing systems in line with Client requirements as well as offering a comprehensive range of standardised tests.
Our testing systems are proven in design and content, combining multi-media with current, authentic industry material.
Pre-test screening systems
Our experience in language testing has shown pre-test screening to be invaluable to our Clients, especially if the English language ability of large numbers of candidates is to be evaluated.
In response, we have developed a range of pre-test screening options. These are proven in accurately filtering weaker candidates, highlighting those who require additional language training and ensuring that the candidates most likely to reach the Clients benchmark are put forward for detailed 1:1 testing, thereby reducing Client costs.
Tests across all four skill areas can be delivered face-to-face, or by telephone to assess speaking and listening competence.
1:1 English language testing
TJS International Language Resources’ detailed 1:1 face-to-face English language testing systems are the pinnacle in language testing.
Not only do they test all four skill areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing, but their format of one hour per candidate ensures a highly accurate evaluation of language ability to internationally recognised standards.
This testing method is suitable for all levels of candidate.
Telephone testing
Our telephone testing systems can reach candidates anywhere in the world at anytime. They are non-automated systems, offering a personalised approach to the issue of candidate location.
The telephone tests we deliver are usually up to 20 minutes duration and evaluate listening and speaking skills.
Grading to internationally recognised standards
Our approach is to work with our Clients to fully understand their requirements from the overseas resource and, in response, to set benchmarks. These benchmarks are set in line with job specifications and the professional requirements.
All our grading is in line with National Language Standards and CEF (Common European Framework) guidelines.
Independent audits of English language training providers
Our extensive experience in language testing has shown that many suppliers of overseas resources develop and deliver their own English language training courses in-house prior to candidates being tested.
In response, TJS International Language Resources can provide independent audits of such training provision to assist Clients and resource suppliers in meeting internationally recognised standards.

With our English language trainers having extensive knowledge of the oil and gas industry, TJS International Language Resources is able to deliver technical English courses directly relevant to the needs of this Client sector.
Courses for all levels are based around technical and authentic documentation including HSE and project documentation as well as oil industry orientated textbooks. In turn, this ensures employees are equipped with the language to fulfil workplace requirements.
TJS International Language Resources is also able to deliver specialised English language courses in marketing.
English for Business
“English is the global language of business”. TJS International Language Resources understands this ethos and the need for effective communication at all levels. In response, we are able to deliver a range of courses for the world of international business to enhance the English language skills of our Clients.
Our courses are designed to be as practical and student-lead as possible, involving simulation of situations that students are likely to find themselves in their professional capacity in the workplace.
Focus workshops on writing and presentation skills
Our experience in industry has shown these to be two key skill areas in which non-native English speakers encounter the most difficulty.
In response, we are able to deliver both 1:1 and small group workshops building confidence in these areas. Both types of workshop are individually designed, can be as industry related as required and focus on improving accuracy and fluency, leading to improved performance and communication.
1:1 or small group training
TJS International Language Resources is able to deliver both 1:1and small group English language training.
Our 1:1 courses are ideal those students who need to make rapid progress within a limited timescale and are designed to meet specific individual needs.
Meanwhile, our small group training option (recommended maximum of six students) is an economical training method suitable for candidates of a similar language ability.
Intensive immersion courses and rolling programmes
Our intensive immersion courses are individually designed and provide the most concentrated and focused form of language training.
They are ideal for students with an immediate requirement to improve their language skills, are suitable for all levels and can be delivered anywhere in the UK or overseas. Courses usually run for six hours per day, five days each week.
Meanwhile, our rolling language programmes offer year round language support to students whether on a technical or business English basis. Courses usually run for a one to two hour session each week.
Examination preparation
Our language trainers have an excellent track record in preparing students for general, business or academic examinations such as Cambridge University Examinations Board, TOEFL and IELTS.
